Love is being held in somebody’s arms for 40 minutes straight and they don’t pull away. They don’t look at your face. They don’t try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight, without an ounce of selfishness to it. And love is forgetting they did that for you because love is hard to stay.
Your best efforts will never be enough when your best efforts are being wasted on the wrong person.
Thing is she’s been hurt so many times. She is scared that if she opens up her heart to another guy then the same thing will happen, she’s afraid that she is just going to be taken advantage of again. She is afraid that you will get bored of her or find someone better, then leave her hurt like she was before. She wants you to put in as much effort as she is putting into the relationship and she wants you to assure her that you will stay when things go bad, instead of leaving and giving up on her. She wants to know that you care enough about her to put up with her, even when she may get mad or when she is sad, you know? She wants to be the reason you smile everyday. All she really is asking for is to be loved and for you to take care of her heart.
